Hyssop for Cleansing, Purification, & Protection

Hyssop is said to drive away negativity and wash away spiritual impurities, which is why it is so often referenced in biblical and folk traditions.

Psalms contains verses that name hyssop and are often spoken in cleansing workings that involve hyssop.

That being said, it‘s unlikely the hyssop we know today is the same as referenced in the bible. Still, the energy and properties align greatly.

Hyssop has been carried, hung in the home, or brewed into washes for spiritual purification. Its strong association with sacred cleansing makes it one of the most widely used herbs for blessing rituals.

In some traditions, hyssop is also used for protection and healing, particularly where one wishes to start fresh or remove lingering heaviness from the past.
